DescriptionMy finest work yet! Even if I do say so myself!
A bit late for this year's preparations for Y6, but whilst I was working through ANOTHER set of marking, I thought why don't I get the PC to do this for me?
This Excel spreadsheet is designed for the pupils to sit in front of, work through the test and then simply save it with their name at the end. The teacher then simply clicks a few buttons (SEE HINTS) and looks at the "Answers" tab to see how many marks each pupil attained and see what level they achieved. ALL DONE FOR YOU! No more sitting for hours on end wading through page after page of marking.

ObjectiveMore time for you to prepare, less time marking, pupils benefitting ultimately.

AssessmentAll done for you! IF YOU WISH TO HAVE ANY MORE OF THESE TESTS, PLEASE CONTACT ME VIA MY EMAIL ADDRESS (at the top of the page.)

Prior KnowledgeJust the small matter of the entire KS2 Numeracy strategy!

ExpectationsLevel 5s!!!

HintsThe spreadsheet works like so. The sheet that the pupils see is the test sheet. Once the pupils finish the test, they MUST save the file with their name. The teacher then comes along to the named file and opens it. Simply then click... Tools... Options... View... and put a tick into the Sheet Tabs box ... then press Ok. This now shows the tabs at the bottom of the screen - Test, Test Answers and Notes. (I have included the Notes tab for certain graph information and also extra info for you as the teacher - have a read, there may be some Qs answered there. Especially look at the comment regarding telling pupils about the red flags in the corner of certain cells.) The Test Answers tab contains formulae for the correct answers to each question. These give marks for each question accordingly. (Please note Cell B350 and the note regarding marks for working out if the pupil answers to the relevant Qs are incorrect.) The marks are then totalled for you out of 40, and a modified level is noted. (Again, not that these are modified for obvious reasons - they do not include the Paper B marks or the marks for the mental test.)
LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK! Email me on my adress at the top of the page. Would love to hear your thoughts for improvement as well.

TRE comment Self marking but not self analytical - A very attractive resource that will be of great benefit to teachers preparing their Year 6 classes for SATs.
This is certainly much easier than marking sets of papers, but teachers will still have to go through each paper to identify which questions have been answered incorrectly.

TRE comment ICT? - Jonathon (and moderator). I had a look at the resource and it looks great, but surely its Maths? If users are looking for ICT as a subject then would they expect to find a Maths revision paper? This resource is filed as applicable to ICT.
I know there is general confusion about whether ICT means equipment or the subject, but in the context of a web site it would seem helpful if ICT was only used for the subject and not the method of delivery.

TRE comment ICT in other curriculum areas? - Using the vehicle of ICT in other areas.... Hope you still find it useful however it is filed!
